The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is a crucial entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) for admission into its prestigious five-year BS-MS dual-degree programs. Candidates aiming for a career in scientific research and innovation take this test to gain admission into one of the seven IISERs located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati.

1. IAT Exam Highlights 2025
Conducting Body: Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER)
Mode of Exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Exam Duration: 180 minutes (3 hours)
Number of Questions: 60
Total Marks: 240
Marking Scheme:
Open to Indian nationals, OCI, and PIO candidates.
- Must have passed or appeared in Class 12 (or equivalent) examination with Science stream in 2024 or 2025.
- Candidates must have studied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the 10+2 level.
- General category: Minimum 60% aggregate in Class 12 (or equivalent).
- SC/ST/PwD category: Minimum 55% aggregate in Class 12.

# KVPY Channel: Based on KVPY Fellowship.
# JEE Advanced Channel: Based on JEE Advanced rank.
# IAT Channel: Based on IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) performance.

- Revise Conceptually: Focus on understanding concepts rather than RATTA MARR memorization.
- Additional Books to be refered: Use reference books like HC Verma (Physics), OP Tandon (Chemistry), and RD Sharma (Mathematics) for understanding.
